  • Jam2 LTD - Featuring Shimano XT shifting, 140mm RockShox suspension, a dropper seatpost and available in 650B Plus and 29" tire sizes. Priced at $4999.
  • Jam2 Pro - Featuring Shimano XT Di2 electronic shifting, Shimano XT brakes, a DT Swiss wheelset and 140mm RockShox suspension. Priced at $5999.
  • Mountain bike, squared: The cutting edge design of the Jam² retains the same geometry of today's best non-electric mountain bikes. Why does this matter? Because riding with assist shouldn't compromise the way a mountain bike handles.
  • Progressive suspension response: Sounds complicated, but isn't. The Jam² suspension is uniquely tuned to be responsive to micro-bumps and serious drops. This means better feedback, control, and bottom-out resistance on every type of terrain. Focus calls this patented technology F.O.L.D - Focus Optimized Linkage Design.
  • Shimano E8000 - The Strong Silent Type: A high-torque drive system built from the ground up to master the trail. The E8000 motor is both compact and stealthy. In operation, the E8000 is powerful yet silent.
  • Shimano's "Shift Up" Controls: Shimano has built an assist level selector which looks and feels just like a traditional shifter. The design makes selecting your assistance level as intuitive as shifting gears.
  • One-piece Rear Triangle: A single-piece aluminum rear triangle cuts weight and adds stiffness, improving handling, responsiveness and minimizing weight.
  • Optional 2nd Battery for Longer Adventures: When the integrated battery isn't enough, simply click on an optional second 380 Wh battery to double your range and extend your adventures.

See video below for a demo.
  • Shimano Di2 Electronic Shifting: Precise, instantaneous shifting is achieved with the electronically controlled Shimano Di2 11-speed shifter and derailleur. Standard on all Pro models. Di2 draws its power from the onboard assist battery.
  • The New Wheel True Warranty™: Focus warranty is backed by The New Wheel's professional service department. Includes 10 year frame coverage, 2 years for electronics all other components.

Our Take

  • The new Squared platform from Focus crosses their 2018 product line from the Jam, to the Bold, to the Sam. It is the result of years of research and development.

  • What is the Squared platform? It's the idea that a bicycle should be recognized on its merits for the things that make it great: nimble handling, positive geometry, optimal spec, and quality of ride. The value of these choices is then increased exponentially with the addition of world-class electric assist. The result has to be experienced to be believed.

  • What makes the Jam² different from its competitors? At The New Wheel, we call the Jam² "the new benchmark in full-suspension ebikes." Because it sets the standard in terms of full suspension technology, geometry, handling, and performance. It's a great off-road bike, made even more exciting by the addition of premier electric assist from Shimano.

  • How is the Jam² different from other bikes in the Focus line? The Jam² is an all-mountain off-road bike with every detail thought through: rigidity, all-terrain suspension performance and electric assist that's powerful and easy to use. The Jam² offers you a choice between single-battery operation for shorter rides and weight savings, and dual-battery operation for longer distance adventures.

  • What makes the Shimano E8000 assist system unique?
  • Integration is the key. The Jam² is a bike that looks as good as it rides. The Shimano E8000 is a smooth, natural drive system designed by a company that knows a thing or two about bicycles. The E8000 exhibits smart, understated integration of electronics into the bike. An electric assist selector that feels just like a high-end Di2 electronic shifter is positioned right where you want it when you're riding technical sections.

  • Tell me more about electronic shifting... Di2 shifting (available on Jam² Pro models) from Shimano offers smooth, precise, no-fuss shifting every time. Best of all, with a 380wh battery on board, you'll never have to worry about running down your Di2 batteries.

  • Who is this bike for? This bike is designed for the rider who wants not just an amazing mountain bike, but a whole new mountain biking experience. The Jam² is an amazing mountain bike that just happens to also be an amazing eBike. Take your offroad riding to the next level. Multiply your enjoyment with the Jam².
