  • Made for you in Germany: Riese & Müller assembles each bike in their factory in Weiterstadt, Germany to your specifications. This means that you can choose things like color, motor style, battery, drivetrain, and accessories. The New Wheel is here to help you to design the perfect bike. Learn more.
  • New Bosch PowerTube integration:  Not only does the integrated PowerTube battery look great - it improves handling by keeping battery weight low and centered.  Charges on the bike, or can be removed and charged off-board.
  • One of a kind step-over design: The only "low-step" frame bike that can be outfitted with Bosch dual batteries.
  • A do anything, go anywhere comfort ebike: The Charger fits in a category we call the 'all arounder' which means it's a terrific do-anything bike. It's a capable commuter, a sturdy rough-road adventurer, even a weekend camper.
  • NuVinci + belt drive = amazing: If you're looking for ease of use and low maintenance, consider equipping the Charger with a NuVinci (Vario) infinitely variable rear hub transmission paired with a Gates Carbon Belt Drive (pictured above).
  • Well appointed and ready to ride: The Charger comes fully loaded with everything you need to ride, including a shock absorbing seatpost, integrated front and rear lights, sturdy metal fenders and fantastic tires.
  • Two frame sizes fit a range of riders: Our staff can help you determine the perfect size frame for you. Frame size options include 46cm and 49cm seat tube lengths, ideal for riders 5'3" - 6'1".
  • A Warranty You Can Trust: Riese & Müller's warranty is backed by The New Wheel True Warranty™  and upheld by our professional service department. Includes 5-year frame coverage, 2 years for electronics, and 2 years for all other components (some exceptions apply).

Our Take

All Riese & Muller bikes are assembled in their factory in Weisenstadt Germany. This means you can customize virtually everything about the bike, including color, drivetrain, motor and battery capacity. Additionally Riese & Muller cargo bikes have many cargo bike accessories for the Packster.

Step-Over, Reinvented Again

Riese & Müller is known for staking out new territory in step-through bikes.  The Charger Mixte offers a sporty, athletic ride that is more comfort-oriented than the Roadster, but more performance-oriented than a Nevo.  The result is the best of both worlds - comfort and performance with a low-step frame.

Putting the Charge in Charger

The Charger features an integrated electric design, made possible by a concealed Bosch PowerTube battery (new for 2018).  The 500 Wh battery is essentially invisible, well-protected from the elements, and keeps battery weight low and centered for improved ebike handling.

Two Bosch Motor Options

A high-speed Bosch Performance Speed motor option on the Charger will help you devour those miles in record time. Or, look to the Bosch CX Drive for unbeatable torque yielding amazing climbing ability.

Designed for Comfort, Built for the Long Haul

A long wheelbase and upright ride position make the Charger Mixte supremely stable and comfortable.

Premium components and an extensive feature set make it perfect for long touring, but also just a durable, sturdy bike.

The Charger Mixte is a touring bike that is perfectly at home in city riding.  Or maybe it's your city bike that takes you camping on the weekends.  Come check it out.
