PURCHASING A SERVICE PLAN

Only bikes purchased from The New Wheel are eligible for a Service Plan. Service Plans extend the included 6-month New Bike Service Plan by an additional year and then renew annually each year after. For example, if a bike was purchased with a Service Plan on January 1, 2020, the renewal date will be in 1.5 years on July 1, 2021 (6 months included service + 1 year service plan). Service Plans are designed to support ongoing, routine maintenance on your bicycle at a discounted rate and thus must be purchased for each year of ownership of your bicycle and any years skipped must be paid for before benefits can recommence. For instance, if a bike was purchased on January 1, 2020 and no Service Plan was purchased until July 1, 2021, two Service Plans must be purchased; one to cover the first year which renews July 1, 2021, and a second to extend the renewal for an additional year until July 1, 2022

RENEWING OR CANCELING A SERVICE PLAN

All Service Plans are automatically renewed annually. You will be notified before renewal at which point a Service Plan can be canceled. In the case of an expiring credit card, you will be notified to update the card on file. Failure to update a card in a timely manner may cause a Service Plan to lapse and expire. A Service Plan renewal can be canceled at any time but a current Service Plan cannot be returned or refunded.

HOW THE SERVICE PLAN WORKS

All service must be scheduled. We cannot guarantee quick turnaround nor can we guarantee a service appointment at the desired date and time. Once a service appointment is made, you can bring your bicycle covered by the Service Plan in at the agreed-upon time and service will be performed. A Service Plan does not mean that you will not have any service costs. Please refer to our service list on the website to understand what is included in Basic Service and Comprehensive Service.

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED

Service Plans do not include parts. Service Plans do not include non-routine repairs such as repairs for damage due to a crash, repairs under warranty, repairs for vandalism, or repairs due to misuse. Service Plans do not include installation of parts unless explicitly stated otherwise as part of the Service Plan (for instance, Comprehensive Plans include free brake pad installation). Service Plans are not a warranty and do not replace or supersede the manufacturer’s warranty.

INCLUDED SERVICE UTILIZATION GRACE PERIOD

Unused Comprehensive Services that are included as part of a Comprehensive Service Plan may be utilized within a 60 day grace period from the renewal or expiration date of a Service Plan.

EXPIRATION OF BENEFITS

When a Service Plan expires, all Service Plan benefits expire on the date of the expiration of the Service Plan except for included services as noted above.

DISCOUNTS

You are entitled to a 10% discount on parts and accessories purchased for a bicycle covered by a Service Plan and priced at less than $250. A discount is only applicable for regularly priced items (not on sale) and may not be combined with any coupons or special offers.

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

Roadside assistance is provided by the Better World Club and includes pickup twice per year with transportation up to 30 miles.

BRAKE PAD INSTALLATION

An additional charge of $15 per brake set will be assessed for brake pads that are worn beyond their maximum wear point.

UPGRADES

A Basic Plan may be upgraded to a Comprehensive Plan within a month of purchase at no additional cost. After the first month grace period, the full price of a Comprehensive Service Plan must be purchased in order to upgrade.

BIKES NOT PURCHASED AT THE NEW WHEEL

Service Plans are exclusively for bikes that were purchased at The New Wheel and may not be purchased for bikes that were sold by another retailer.

WHO CAN USE A SERVICE PLAN?

Service Plans are linked to an individual bicycle. Service Plan benefits may only be redeemed by the registered owner of the bicycle for which a Service Plan was purchased, and services may only be performed on bicycles for which a Service Plan has been purchased.

TRANSFERRING A PLAN

Service Plans are tied to a bicycle and can be transferred to the new owner of a bicycle that is attached to a current, fully paid Service Plan.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS

We reserve the right to refuse to offer a Service Plan to anyone or any bicycle for any reason. We reserve the right to cancel or modify any Service Plan for any reason, the only remedy of such cancellation or modification being the refund of the unused portion of the Service Plan purchase price.
